This commissioned piece was painted with dirt gathered from a farm at the base of the Beartooth Mountains as well as the yellow and red hues that were gathered from North of Martinsdale, MT in The Little Belt Mountains. The blue color making up the backdrop behind the mountains was found in a mine near Niehart, MT and yes it is actually blue!
