A Sandy Scowl: This piece was painted with two red tones. One is actual crushed brick that was found laying among the streets of Castle Town, a Montana ghost town located on private land in The Castle Mountains. This brick “saw” the hustle and bustle of a Montana mining community in its prime. The other red tone is from north of Martinsdale in the Little Belt Mountains in a spot that my family dubbed the “Enchanted Forest”. A spooky, mystical and magical place that “saw” many animals and travelers throughout the years. The yellow color also comes the the Little Belts in a spot just East of the “Enchanted Forest.” The black is ash gathered from the Kings Hill area and the blue is actual crushed turquoise.
