Just Sunshine and Dirt: This piece was painted with green dirt found in Sawmill Canyon of the Little Belt Mountains North of Harlowton, MT. The yellow and red tones in the iris are dirt that was gathered from different areas also of the Little Belts. The yellow was gathered from North of Martinsdale in a spot where large chunks of earth break and fall exposing many layers with varieties and colors of soil including this vivid yellow clay. The red/pink tones are a dirt found near Sapphire Village.
