Petals of the Old West: This piece was created using the remnants of an old brick discovered in Castle Town, a ghost town in the Castle Mountains of Central Montana. Once a lively mining town, it was likely brimming with excitement, drama, and unfolding history. The green hues in the piece were collected near Sapphire Village in the Little Belt Mountains, while the vibrant yellow at the center of the flower was sourced from north of Martinsdale, also in the Little Belt Mountains. For shading, black ash from a forest fire in the Kings Hill area of the Little Belt Mountains was used.
