Smoke and Petals: This piece was painted with dirt and other found materials gathered from Central MT. The red tone is actual crushed brick found laying among the streets of Castle Town, a Montana ghost town located on private land in the Castle Mountains. The yellow color comes from the Little Belts in a spot North of Martinsdale where the ground breaks off exposing many layers and colors of soil. The black is ash gathered from a forest fire that burned in the Kings Hill area and the green for the stem was gathered from near Saphire Village, also located in the Little Belts.
