Songbird Triptych:
This triptych was painted with red dirt from 16 Mile Canyon near Ringling, MT. The Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroads used to run through here. The blueish/green dirt was gathered from the Sawmill Canyon area in the Little Belt Mountains and the darker color dirt that makes up the branch and details in the eyes and beaks of the birds was found in the Big Snowy Mountains near the Crystal Lake area.
