Storm King: This piece is painted with two different red tones, one gathered from near the Bridger Canyon road and the other from north of Martinsdale in the Little Belt Mountains in a spot that my family dubbed the “Enchanted Forest”. A spooky, mystical and magical place that “saw” many animals and travelers throughout the years. The yellow color also came from what was our family ranch north of Martinsdale in a spot where large chunks of earth break and fall exposing many layers with varieties and colors of soil including this vivid yellow clay. The black is ash from a forest fire that occurred in the Kings Hill Area.
