The Caregiver: This piece was painted with a white/tan crushed sandstone found North of Martinsdale along Mud Creek. It was near the remains of an old sawmill with piles of lumber that was never put to use. The skin tone was created using red dirt gathered just south of the sawmill in a spot where large chunks of earth break and fall exposing many layers with varieties and colors of soil. The details and freckles were created using black ash from a forest fire that occurred in the Kings Hill Area. The blue for the plastic lamb bottle was painted with actual crushed turquoise.
